Don’t forget! The TLQP December Workshop with Dr. Rachel Bachman is about a week away. Join us for a relaxing and entertaining way to spend the day during this hectic time of year. We hope to see you there.
Dr. Rachel Bachman, Assistant Professor at Weber State University in Utah. Dr. Bachman, a graduate of Binghamton’s doctoral program in Mathematics Education, returns every December and June to lead us in a workshop, usually in concert with Dr. Sweeney. This December, however, Dr. Sweeney can’t be with us; he’s having rotator cuff surgery. Tom, we wish you a very speedy healing, and we will miss you!
Dr. Bachman has, as always, planned a terrific workshop where you will explore assessment tools to orchestrate class discussions, support productive struggle, plan follow- up lessons, and choose intervention strategies. These strategies include unique uses of exit tickets, number talks, manipulatives, and technology. Please bring your favorite assessment questions that have been most enlightening to you about where students are in their understanding.
So do come, enhance your assessment techniques, and give yourself a pleasant break during this frenzied time of year!
This invitation is open to all our TLQP friends in both cohorts.
