This workshop is over, but here are the files for your review.
Dear TLQP Friends,
Summer has gone by so quickly! Just yesterday we were enjoying the Summer Institute—and now the academic year is upon us again. We look forward to another great year of working with you in the Teacher Leader Quality Partnership project.
We are starting early this year to get in lots of good work. September 17 is our first workshop at Binghamton University, Academic B, Rooms 124 and 125, and you are invited, regardless of whether you work with the Binghamton or the Sage cohort.Come join us as Dr. Sweeney leads us in a close investigation of a current and exciting approach to teaching mathematics suggested in the book Mathematical Mindsets by Dr. Jo Boaler. Each participant will receive a copy of her book, which provides practical strategies and activities to help teachers and parents show all children, even those who are convinced that they are bad at math, that they can enjoy and succeed in math. We will discuss how Boaler presents mathematics to students, structures the problems, guides students through them, and gives feedback in a way to help students develop a growth mindset. We will follow this theme for several workshops of our TLQPworkshops this year.
