TLQP workshop April 1

Dear TLQP Friends:
Please join us for our April 1 TLQP workshop at Binghamton University and begin the month with a great professional development adventure.
On April 1, we expand one of the concepts Jo Boaler claims leads to high student achievement—number sense. Our development will follow Cathy Humphrey’s and Ruth Parker’s approach as set forth in their book Number Talks.
Number talks are powerful tools for helping students develop computational fluency. They are short classroom discussions with students about how to solve a particular mental math problem. The focus is not on the correct answer but on possible methods of finding the answer.
Come, share some professional time with your colleagues, get a book, and find out more about this effective and engaging teaching strategy.
We will provide brunch, lunch, free parking, and some great number talk!

This invitation is open to all our TLQP friends in both cohorts: please do come.
